Andrew Rambaut, PhD

Andrew Rambaut did his doctoral work at the University of Oxford on the use of phylogenetics for the understanding of the dynamics of infectious diseases. He then held a Royal Society Research Fellowship at Oxford and later the University of Edinburgh. He became Professor of Molecular Evolution at the University of Edinburgh in 2010. His research focuses on computational approaches to the molecular evolution and epidemiology of fast-evolving RNA viruses. His recent work focuses on developing solutions for real-time genomic epidemiology of outbreaks and epidemics using portable sequencing.
